Case Study:
Roof Survey for a Residents’ Association
Client: Private Residents’ Association, Mews Apartments, Surrey
Service: Drone Roof Survey (DJI Mini 4 Pro)
Date: September 2025
The Brief
The residents’ association managing a block of mews apartments contacted Dukes Drone Flights to conduct a non-intrusive roof inspection. They required high-quality visuals to check the condition of the roof following concerns about loose tiles, but wanted to avoid the cost and disruption of scaffolding or cherry pickers.
The Approach
Using a DJI Mini 4 Pro drone, I carried out a detailed aerial survey of the building. Flying under CAA-compliant procedures, I was able to safely capture 4K video footage and high-resolution still images from multiple angles, giving the residents a complete overview of their roof condition.
The Findings
The drone survey revealed two loose roof tiles which could have posed a future safety and maintenance issue if left unchecked. The residents now have clear visual evidence to present to their contractors, ensuring timely and accurate repair.
Deliverables
A full aerial video survey of the roof.
A series of high-resolution images highlighting specific issues
Professional documentation of findings for the residents’ records
The Value
Cost-effective: avoided the need for scaffolding
Safe & efficient: no need to climb the roof
Clear evidence: visuals that can be shared with contractors
Peace of mind: residents are now aware of the exact maintenance required
